Once The truth is revealed can you ever forget it?

Could you let the discovery be stopped?"

What Are The Case Files About?

Discover the hidden world of UnderBelly Case Files, a series where reality and fiction begin to blur, and where the strange things hiding beneath everyday life are no longer willing to stay hidden.

The UnderBelly series follows the case files of a journalist who, after turning thirty-five, began noticing inexplicable events. Odd sightings. Unsettling encounters. Strange cases that seemed too unusual to ignore and too dangerous to forget. So, one by one, he began documenting them.

At first, these events appeared separate. Each case seemed like another strange piece of the world that most people would rather not see. But then he realized the truth. These were not random events. They were connected. Each case pointed toward something larger, something hidden, and something moving toward a common, unsettling goal: changing the world as we know it.

Then, through a chance meeting, he found someone who understood him completely. She understood his needs, his questions, and the pull that would not let him walk away because she felt it too. From that meeting, a bond formed unlike anything seen in over 1,400 years.

This was not only the bond of two people in love. It was also a bond tied to something ancient, something dormant, and something now beginning to wake. Together, these two people may be the only ones capable of stopping what has already begun. To do that, they must find the paths, uncover the mysteries, and face the truth about the world they were both taught to believe was normal. But nothing is normal anymore.

They soon discover that there is more than one world. There are hidden realms, forgotten systems, and a separate management structure that has remained silent for thousands of years. Now, because of them, that system is starting to wake. What was ordinary only a week ago may never be ordinary again.

The series begins with two books containing twelve cases. These cases explain the world as it exists today, while opening the door to the larger story still to come. Three more books will follow, until all the documented and extraordinary events in these two people’s lives are known.

The outcome is still unknown. The future is unclear. At the center of the chaos are two people who must hold on to what matters most: each other. Their story shows the power of staying bonded to the person you love, no matter what life throws at you. With that bond, survival becomes possible, especially with a little help from a few gods on your side.

There is an old warning, forgotten by most, but true now more than ever:

Beware. There are monsters out there, and once you see them, they will never stop watching you.

The warning comes from the old idea of dangerous, uncharted places marked on maps, places where the unknown waited beyond the edge of safety. In this story, it means something deeper. It means hidden fears, unseen threats, and truths that permanently change the way a person sees the world.

This warning was meant to keep people from looking where Karl is being pulled.

But no one ever told him.

Layers of Truth Volume one reader reviews

***** A Thrilling Read Reviewed in the US on June 8, 2026 Format: Paperback

The format of the book is a bit different, but that was part of what made this book exciting. The main character is a reporter and his opinion column is included-it allows the reader to a real-time experience.

In modern day Chicago there is a witch stuck in “our plain of existence” and she is not happy about it.

A potion given to a college kid under the guise of a science formula backfires starts a cavalcade of wild and scary creatures that threatens Chicagoans.

The police write off these crimes as “nothing to see here”, but the reporter knows differently. What new revelations does the reporter find? How does this witch fit into all of the otherworldly events that end in terrifying deaths of innocents? Is this a good vs scenario? And just who is the good guy? Who stands up to fight evil?

Whoa! It’s a thrilling read.

***** Mysterious Reviewed in the US on June 9, 2026 Format: Hardcover

This story follows the main character, a reporter named Karl, who investigates the supernatural. He's trying to outrun his past but also find who he wants to become. There are hilarious bits and mysterious bits. I liked the combination of themes. The book is like a collection of case files from an investigation so if you're ok with a read that isn't completely linear, then this book is great.

***** A Twisty Start to a Dark Mystery Series Reviewed in the US on May 25, 2026 Format:

When i read this book, I thought Layers of Truth was a really interesting mix of mystery, tension, and drama. The story kept me hooked because there was always something new unfolding, and the main character Karl, well he felt understandable with his struggles to outrun his past while figuring out who he wanted to become. I also liked the warm side of the story, especially the relationships and the way trust was tested. If you enjoy books with secrets, twists, and a darker vibe, this is a solid start to the series.

****- Enjoyable Reviewed in the UK on 27 May 2026

Layers of Truth | VOLUME ONE

Discover the hidden world of the underbelly Case Files and explore the stories that blur the line between reality and fiction. When an unexpected romance becomes the pivot point for the secrets that have been hidden away from all five Realms, the Earth Realm is in danger of being removed, as the sixth realm was. In this gripping start to the new UnderBelly series!

The UnderBelly Case Files chronicle a world where rumors are reality, and the impossible is not theoretical. Across many escalating cases, one investigative

reporter is drawn deeper into a hidden war unfolding beneath ordinary life, one fought through invisible doorways, costly bargains, and forgotten realms.

Strange deaths, impossible events, and moments that refuse to obey ordinary logic are surfacing, dismissed by most as coincidence or madness. What appear to be isolated incidents slowly reveal a pattern, suggesting that reality itself is managed by unseen systems that enforce rules that reward ignorance and punish curiosity. The deeper  \the investigation goes, the more apparent it becomes that the danger is not random, but that bad forces beyond the veil do want to stop the progress.

Two people must learn to rely on each other as exposure to the truth begins to erode the world around them. When their bond grows into rare love, they realize the world could be counting on them to remain pure and honest.  The lucky two who truly understand can only find peace by holding on to each other, as it is their bond that keeps them secure amid the surrounding chaos.

The knowledge gained reveals that the rules governing this world are older than memory itself, and only partially understood. They must travel from the dark  of the realms to the light of the heavens, revealing the  Underbelly most

Power of Thought | VOLUME TWO

When Karl and Julie’s decision to bind their lives together does not bring peace, Old wounds reopen,  buried truths surface, and the past refuses to remain contained. As the world begins offering exits, quiet endings that promise relief, safety, or rest, they must choose between silence,  separation, or surrender.

As exhaustion sets in, trust is strained between family, and Karl carries the weight of overwhelming knowledge, the cost of which is tragically known only to the one he loves. Together, they are forced to confront endings that feel merciful yet incomplete, and to recognize how often systems survive by convincing people to stop caring. Riddles sharpen into warnings, revealing fragments of a truth embedded
into the structure of reality itself, one which was lost long ago from deceit.

As tensions rise and hidden conflicts edge closer to open confrontation, survival is no longer the goal. Choice becomes central. Power, safety, and legacy are weighed against love, agency, and alignment. What emerges  is the realization that the system reacts unpredictably when Karl and Julie refuse to be divided, revealing  a bond that can never be broken and a pledge that will never be released, in a world built on
separation, Karl and Julie choose each other again and again, becoming the
One variable the Underbelly cannot account for.

Fight Your Fate | VOLUME THREE

Of the forty case files sitting in the box, a mere thirteen have been revealed. Now is the time to expand into the ones that shaped a thought, started a journey, or pushed toward a choice long before it was made. The remaining files divulge the secrets kept close and the details behind those most important to the fight. Where did Karl get the rules he lives by? Why is he so desperate to avoid killing? Where does Julie truly gain her love of learning?  Some questions will be answered here, but the rest will have answers later.

The files left behind contain information crucial to understanding the world surrounding the Underbelly. They contain stories of hope, despair, and utter dissolution. It is time to fill in the cracks and reveal the full story behind the most important war no one has heard of, to shine a spotlight on the events that have been forgotten by the majority, and to gain knowledge previously known only to a few. It is time to reveal the Underbelly, one file at a time.

The traversing of multi-dimensional worlds, merging the eerie with the
Enchanting has begun to embrace the full spectrum of what is
happening in the UnderBelly.

The first of the stories that were so strange or so far out there, they could not be shared until the public knew the truth, or you would not even be able to ponder the fact that there is any chance they were real. But this is not fiction; it's how I lived my life leading up to Julie's 35th birthday.

So here I am, another day in LA.

Not too hot. Not too windy. Not raining frogs, bleeding walls, or anything that would make a sane man turn around and move to Idaho.
Just another normal day. Which, for me, usually means the fuse is already lit, and I am the only idiot standing close enough to smell the smoke.  I used to think strange things happened around me by accident. Bad luck. Wrong place, wrong time. Maybe the universe had a sense of humor, and my name was written on the bathroom wall somewhere between HELP ME and CALL THIS GUY FIRST.

Now I know better, these things find me.  The unexplained. The impossible. The ugly little cracks in the world where something reaches through and starts pulling. I do not understand why it always seems to be me standing there when it happens, but I have accepted one thing: if something crawls, flies, melts, whispers, bites, curses, or decides humanity looks better from the inside out, sooner or later, it knocks on my door, sometimes literally.  That is why I started keeping a bag in my car. Nothing fancy. Nothing government-issued. Just a collection of things a normal man should never need unless his life has gone badly off the rails. Tools. Salt. Tape. Wire. Whatever I can get away with carrying without someone asking too many questions.

Why, that is simple. I feel like I am a magnet for the unexplained and the unknown. And when those things show up, they usually do not come with a polite note or a return address. They come hungry, angry, enchanted, half-rotted, half-hidden, or wearing a face they borrowed from something that should have stayed dead.  How do I deal with them? Well, it's also simple. I remove them from the planet.  Yeah, sometimes that means I kill, maim, break, burn, crush, or destroy. Occasionally, that involves a building. Sometimes fire. More fire than my insurance agent would probably enjoy hearing about. I do not hear about anyone else handling this kind of thing on what feels like a monthly schedule, but I know one thing for sure.

It is always me they come looking for, as you might be wondering what the point of this is. That is fair. Let’s deal with that now.  Lately, with the oddities stacking up, every friend I thought I had seems to vanish once I tell the truth. I come clean because that feels like the responsible thing to do. I explain what I saw. I explain what happened. I explain why there is a hole where there should not be one, why a person who was alive is no longer shaped like a person, or why a room smells like death and melted pennies.  Then come the colorful words, before they leave me standing alone again.

So I have decided that since I cannot get comfort from a shoulder, a laugh, or one decent human being willing to say, “Karl, that sounds awful, and also maybe you should stop climbing into places that want to eat you,” I will get it from my second love, the page. Just a note. An account. Something written down before memory gets brave enough to start lying to me. I am calling them the Kolchak Papers or Files. The name hasn't been settled yet, anyway. It can wait until there are more of them. If I live long enough, maybe I will even pick one.  And yes, you are probably wondering how you are reading this if these pages are supposed to be for my own collection. Here is the truth. When writers write, they want someone to read what they put their time into. We can pretend otherwise, but that is just another kind of fiction.
So I know that someday I will feel the pull to set this straight for the world. To explain what was out there before someone else gives it a cleaner name, locks it in a file cabinet, or calls it mass hysteria with a straight face.

This will be the first file. So when that day comes, I will remember exactly what I was thinking on the twentieth day of October, 2014, just today, and just me.  Just the quiet before whatever comes next decides I have had enough peace.  So now I will close this file, which I am sure will eventually be filled with something. I wish there were a better word, but “thing” seems to cover it when you do not have enough information, it has too many teeth, and it wants me dead.  I will wait for the next THING that wants me dead.  It will probably start on the next page, because that is how this works. I'm sitting here, minding my own business, then poof, there it is.

Whatever it is,  just so you know, no, I am not crazy.  Even though this has started, and I am sure you might think I escaped Belview just yesterday. I did not. I am still here. Still writing. Still breathing. For now.  So there you have it, the first words from he who will be hunted by many.

With that, I will bid you bye from my 36-year-old me until you read what is next when it comes for me, they always do, that is sure, they always do.
